The Japan Foundation and the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) are pleased to announce the lineup of guests for the second year of the Conversation Series at Asia Lounge, selected by a committee which was once again advised by Palme d’Or winner KORE-EDA Hirokazu. Acclaimed directors and actors from a variety of countries and regions in Asia and beyond will gather at the Asia Lounge to chat with their Japanese counterparts as part of the 34th TIFF, to be held from October 30 to November 8.
 

 
This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Japan Foundation and TIFF were again limited in their ability to invite guests from overseas, and to achieve their original goal of making Asia Lounge a place where filmmakers can interact and attend talk sessions in person. However, we are pleased that actress Isabelle Huppert and filmmaker Kamila Andini will be able to join us physically for the 34th TIFF and Asia Lounge. Please be sure to register early. We look forward to seeing you at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya.

How to apply
There are two ways to apply: (1) In-person participation at the venue or (2) Online participation.
 
1.In-person participation
Audiences can join the Conversation Series at Asia Lounge live at the venue in Hibiya, Tokyo.
Note:
-If there are a large number of applicants, there will be a random drawing.
-These will be outdoor events. In case of stormy weather (rain or strong wind), viewing at the venue will be canceled, so please enjoy the event online instead (it will be streamed at the scheduled time).
2.Online participation
Audiences can watch the event on the Zoom Webinar (Free registration. Registration for online viewing is open until the end time of each session)
